BRYAN, Texas (AP) - A 25-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for stealing more than $300,000 from a Texas bank.

The Bryan-College Station Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/1pQMtYb ) Kydrick Benton was sentenced Thursday by a Brazos County jury. He pleaded guilty Wednesday to the June 2013 armed robbery of the Prosperity Bank in Bryan.

Authorities say Benton ditched his gun, cash and getaway car after the robbery and fled on foot. Police later apprehended him across town.
