COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Hold that elevator!

An estimated 6,700 undergraduates who live on the University of South Carolina campus are moving in this weekend.

University spokeswoman Megan Sexton says the main streets on the heart of the campus are expected to be full Friday and Saturday. Sexton says an estimated 5,000 freshmen are entering the institution this year. USC has an enrollment of 31,000.

Parents are being welcomed at a Gamecock Family Roost from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday on the first floor of the Russell House University Union on Greene Street. Representatives from the Office of Parent Program will be available, and students may pick up their prepackaged text book orders in the basement bookstore.

Classes begin Aug. 21.
