MOSELLE, Miss. (AP) - State transportation officials say a stretch of U.S. Highway 11 in Moselle could be closed until September while a new bridge is built.

WDAM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1syMbbQ ) the road in Jones County was closed in the early summer so crews could begin replacing the bridge.

Mississippi Department of Transportation officials say a change in the bridge’s design and bad weather delayed the project. The work had been expected to be completed by mid-July.

The contractor is now working an additional day each week to get the work completed.
