PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - A Paducah woman facing a charge of practicing law without a license appeared has pleaded not guilty.

The Paducah Sun reported (https://bit.ly/VsJTMR ) that 47-year-old Patrina King, is due back in court in McCracken County on Sept. 4.

The allegations in a complaint state that King prepared a divorce petition for $40 for someone without having a license to practice law in Kentucky.

An investigation began after Attorney General Jack Conway’s criminal investigations unit received word from the McCracken County Attorney’s Office.

King faces up to 90 days in jail and a $250 fine.
