LETART, W.Va. (AP) - A Mason County man sought for questioning in the slaying of his wife has been found dead.

West Virginia State Police tell media outlets that 60-year-old Charles Anderson died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body was found Friday afternoon in a wooded area in Roane County.

Troopers found the body of Anderson’s wife, 54-year-old Kathy Anderson, on Wednesday at the couple’s home in Letart. State police say she died from a gunshot wound.

A passing motorist called police after noticing an abandoned pickup truck along Sandy Hollow Road in Roane County. State police determined that the truck was Anderson’s and later found him dead nearby.
