FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Downtown Fayetteville is paying tribute to the U.S. military’s airborne operations.

The event is scheduled for Saturday in front of the Airborne & Special Operations Museum. Pre-ceremony music will begin at 9:30 a.m. featuring the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Band.

Equipment used by Fort Bragg soldiers will be on display and available for those attending to interact with. Soldiers who use the equipment will be there to answer questions.

The Golden Knights precision parachute team will perform a free-fall demonstration.

Local, Army, and state Transportation Department officials will declare Fayetteville’s Outer Loop is to be called the Airborne & Special Operations Highway.

State Transportation Secretary Tony Tata is the guest speaker.
