BRIDGEVILLE, Del. (AP) - State police say a 58-year-old woman was struck and killed as she tried to cross Seashore Highway near Bridgeville.

Police say Connie Garrison of Bridgeville stepped directly into the path of a car shortly after sundown on Friday night and did not use a crosswalk. She suffered numerous traumatic injuries and died at a hospital.

The driver of the car and a 12-year-old boy riding in it were wearing seatbelts and not injured.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
