PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Foundation has named Maxwell King as its new president and CEO.

The foundation says in a Friday release that King will begin a five-year term in September.

Board of Directors chair Dr. Edith Shapira says King was chosen unanimously and they are thrilled he is returning to Pittsburgh.

King formerly worked as an editor for The Philadelphia Inquirer in the 1990s, and served nine years as president of Pittsburgh’s Heinz Endowments and six years on the board of the National Council on Foundations. King is currently a Fellow of the Latrobe-based Fred Rogers Center.
