RUSTON, La. (AP) - An associate dean at Louisiana Tech University has been named president of a national engineering society.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/ViSv8B ) Jenna Carpenter, associate dean for undergraduate studies, will lead the Women in Engineering Proactive Network for 2014-15.

Carpenter also is a professor of mathematics and statistics in Louisiana Tech’s College of Engineering and Science.

The engineering society has more than 700 members nationwide drawn from businesses, nonprofits and academic disciplines.
