LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - A popular summer festival featuring more than a dozen balloons and tens of thousands of spectators is drawing to a close in Lewiston, Maine.

Warm, sunny weather served to boost attendance for the Great Falls Balloon Festival on all three days, including the final balloon launches on Sunday.

The Androscoggin River and the Great Falls serve as a backdrop for the event.

The festival draws about 100,000 people each year. The event at Simard and Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston helps local nonprofit groups to raise awareness of their causes.
