BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Officials of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries say the commercial fishing season for greater amberjack in Louisiana state waters will close Aug. 25 at 12:01 a.m.

The department says the harvest for the 2014 season is expected to be about 409,000 pounds by the time the season closes.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has closed federal waters to recreational and commercial amberjack fishing for the remainder of 2014.
