BANGOR, Maine (AP) - The three candidates in the race for Maine governor will be speaking at events for the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce this fall.

The group says that independent candidate Eliot Cutler will speak at its chamber breakfast event on Sept. 11.

Republican Gov. Paul LePage will address the crowd on Sept. 24.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud is scheduled to speak on Oct. 14.

The three events will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bangor. Both chamber members and nonmembers are invited.

John Porter, Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, says it’s important for the group’s members to get to hear from the candidates in person and “not just through television ads or the media.”
