HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A coroner says starvation and dehydration were factors in the death of a 9-year-old boy whose decomposing body was found on the third floor of a central Pennsylvania home.

Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick says he’s awaiting additional test results before issuing a report on how Jarrod Tutko Jr. died.

PennLive (https://bit.ly/1oaMySu) reported Hetrick’s comments Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the family’s Harrisburg home on Aug. 1 and found the boy’s body.

His father, 38-year-old Jarrod Tutko, was charged with child endangerment, concealing the death of a child and abuse of a corpse.

Kimberly Tutko has said her husband was the primary caretaker of their mentally disabled son and he waited several days to tell her the boy had died.
