CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A Cedar Rapids man faces up to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to selling thousands of counterfeit DVDs and CDs.

A U.S. attorney’s office spokesman says 45-year-old Steven Brown pleaded guilty Monday to one count of copyright infringement.

The spokesman says Brown admitted to producing and selling more than 1,500 DVDs and nearly 500 CDs in 2012 and 2013. The total retail value is estimated at more than $25,000.

Brown faces the prison time, a $250,000 fine and other penalties.
