ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - The USA Pro Challenge riders are headed from Aspen to Mount Crested Butte over two scenic mountain passes.

Starting from Aspen on Tuesday, the 128 riders will go over McClure Pass and then Kebler Pass, which is mostly unpaved. They’ll finish on a steep climb up to Mount Crested Butte.

Two Boulder cyclists finished in the top two positions in Monday’s opening circuit race between Aspen and Snowmass. Kiel Reijnen of UnitedHealthCare Pro Cycling edged Alex Howes of Garmin-Sharp in a two-man sprint across the finish line.

Aspen’s Tejay van Garderen is the defending champion and favorite in the 16-team race. The field features three riders who finished among the top 12 in this year’s Tour de France.
