MADRID (AP) - The Spanish league says the second division season will open as planned this weekend after earler plans to delay its start.

League president Javier Tebas says that the second-tier competition will begin on Saturday after the league resolved a dispute involving a club that had gone to court to fight its relegation for failing to meet financial requirements.

Real Murcia had won a ruling by a judge that ordered its inclusion in the second division.

But Tebas says that it is “impossible” to carry out the judge’s order, meaning relegated Murcia would play in the third division.
