NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 55-year-old man was shot in the chest as he sat in a parked car in Jamaica, Queens.

The shooting happened at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Three plainclothes officers heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene. They saw a man holding a gun in his right hand.

The officers ordered the man to drop his weapon. He complied and was arrested.

Police then spotted a man sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked car with a gunshot wound to the chest.



The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as 55-year-old Langley Bruce.

Thirty-seven-year-old Anthony Guyton was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer.
