OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A free conference has been scheduled next month to help grandparents deal with the issues and challenges of raising grandchildren.
The GRANDfamily Conference is Sept. 24 at Crossings Community Center in Oklahoma City.
Experts will provide information about legal issues, connecting with a child’s school, financial resources, social media safety and caregiver self-care. The conference also features exhibitors with information to help grandparents and other relatives raising children.
Organizers say Oklahoma ranks among the top 10 states in the number of grandparents or other relatives raising children and that nearly 44,000 grandparents have full responsibility for those children.
