BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police are investigating a former employee of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center on felony theft charges.

Police says the former center’s director of facilities allegedly use of a corporate credit card for more than $16,000 in purchases of personal items.

Cpl. Don Coppola tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1neNHZL ) an arrest warrant has been issued for 49-year-old Larry Dale Butler, of New Orleans.

After sending an email to the cancer center’s human resources department on Aug. 11 letting them know he had another job opportunity and would not be in, Coppola says Butler was terminated.
