LAMAR, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas authorities say they’ve arrested a 69-year-old man who pointed a loaded assault rifle at a deputy.

The Times Record reports (https://bit.ly/1s3dLdp ) the man was arrested Monday on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, second-degree battery and terroristic threatening. It’s unclear if he has been charged.

Johnson County deputies say they went to the Lamar home to serve a court order. They say the man answered the door and pointed an assault rifle at a deputy’s stomach. They say the man eventually discarded the rifle and fled into a back bedroom.

The deputies say the man fought and struck the deputies. They say they shot him with a Taser to take him into custody.

He was released from the Johnson County Detention Center Tuesday on a $15,000 bond.
