COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Black Forest is looking to fill the post left vacant by Fire Chief Bob Harvey, who went on medical leave nearly three months ago because of symptoms possibly related to post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1zdeMSE ) fire district board members have not spoken to Harvey in 11 weeks, but they haven’t fired him.

Harvey, an at-will employee who was hired in 2012, announced June 4 he would be taking medical leave because of stress caused by a hostile work environment and by fighting the Black Forest Fire. The blaze started June 11, 2013, and burned more than 18,000 acres, destroyed 488 homes and killed two people.

Harvey cleaned out his office and dropped off district-owned property Aug. 13. He has not publicly commented about his job situation.
