WILLINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Car crashes in Willington and Newington have killed two people and injured several others.

State police say one person died Friday morning after a car struck a utility pole on Route 32 in Willington. The victim hasn’t been identified yet, and troopers are trying to determine what caused the crash.

Authorities closed Route 32 during the investigation and cleanup.

Newington police responded to a three-vehicle accident at Main Street and Stoddard Avenue on Thursday afternoon. Authorities say one of the four people who were injured later died at Hartford Hospital.

Police haven’t identified the four victims. The conditions of the three injured survivors haven’t been disclosed.
