CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Illinois’ 2014-15 men’s basketball schedule is out and the team’s Big Ten play will begin against the league’s top talent.

The Fighting Illini will begin conference play against Michigan on Dec. 30, before heading to Ohio State on Jan. 3. Illinois’ lone home contest during its first five games is against Maryland on Jan. 7. This will be the Terrapins’ inaugural Big Ten season.

After playing four of five on the road, the Illini will play four out of five games at home, starting with back-to-back games at State Farm Center against Indiana on Jan. 18 and Purdue on Jan. 21.

The Illini will play 13 games against 10 teams that participated in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

The Big Ten Tournament will be held at the United Center in Chicago.
