MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Montana football coach Mick Delaney says the Grizzlies have lost starting offensive lineman John Schmaing for the 2014 season due to academic issues.

Delaney said Friday that Schmaing will return for his senior year in 2015.

Schmaing - a 6-foot-7, 290-pound offensive tackle from Billings - started all 13 games at left tackle last season and earned honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference honors. The team website lists his major as sociology.
