VASSALBORO, Maine (AP) - Seven new game wardens will soon be ready to go on patrol.

The Maine Warden Service said the game wardens graduated Friday at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro, having completed a 12-week advanced program built specifically for wardens. The seven also previously completed an 18-week basic law enforcement training program that’s required of all police officers.

Wardens receive training in law enforcement as well as search and rescue, recreational vehicle crash investigation, water survival, physical fitness and public relations.
