RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s health in identifying the motorist whose car hit and killed two cyclists almost a year ago.

The patrol says 41-year-old Ivin Levander Scurlock of Carrboro and 40-year-old Alexandria Nicole Simou of Chapel Hill were riding south on U.S. 15-501 outside of Chapel Hill last September when they were struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle.

Scurlock died at the scene and Simou was taken to UNC Hospital, where she died.

According to the patrol, the suspect vehicle was described as having front end and windshield damage. The make and model of the vehicle is unknown.
