DURAND, Mich. (AP) - Organizers have canceled what would have been the 15th annual Keepers of Quilting Traditions show in Durand, citing a need for more help.

Loretta Rolfes, quilt show secretary, tells The Flint Journal (https://bit.ly/VKpzXP ) there’s a need for “more young blood.” She says volunteers are available to help on the day of the show, but there aren’t enough people to help in the months leading up to the event.

The show usually takes place the first weekend of October. It typically brings hundreds of quilters together from around the state.

Rolfes says the show is planned to take place in the future, but possibly not annually.
