PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police have identified a 15-month-old toddler who was struck by a car in Providence.

Police say Justin Diaz Cabral was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital Tuesday morning in critical condition. He was still in critical condition later Tuesday.

Police were called to a home on Gillen Street at 9:30 a.m.

Police say the boy was in his driveway when a neighbor who was on her way to work backed out and hit him. The boy’s father found him in the driveway shortly after. Police have identified the female driver as a 28-year-old Providence resident. They say she drove a 2006 Cadillac SRX.
