LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe has named a Fayetteville man to serve a seven-year term on the Arkansas Board of Education.

Kim Davis’ term will expire on June 30, 2021. He replaces board member Brenda Gullett, also of Fayetteville.

Davis serves as director of external relations and economic development for the Northwest Arkansas Council, which is a nonprofit organization aimed at promoting the region.

Davis previously taught school in Texas and New York City before joining the Northwest Arkansas Council.
