MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A blood drive that set a record in 2011 is getting underway in New Hampshire.

The 31st annual Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive is taking place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Center of New Hampshire Expo Center at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.

Organizers are hoping to collect between 1,500 and 2,000 units of blood.

The blood drive was organized by Steve Singer in memory of his sister-in-law Gail Singer, died from cancer 31 years ago.

The blood drive set the record for being the largest single-day blood drive in America in 2011.
