CLEVELAND, Miss. (AP) - Delta State University’s most recent fundraising campaign has brought in more than $43 million.

The goal was originally $40 million. However; it was reached and exceeded a year early, with original dates for fundraising from October 2005 through June 2015.

The Bolivar Commercial reports (https://bit.ly/1ltLNtd ) the money is going to support scholarship funds, strengthened academic programs and new initiatives to benefit faculty, staff and students.

Delta State officials announced the results of the campaign this past week.

The campaign was spearheaded by the Delta State University Foundation along with the Delta State Alumni-Foundation and others.
