OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation is expected to select a contractor soon for the repaving of Mississippi Highway 302 east of Olive Branch.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1vGN4xI ) construction is expected begin this fall along a 4.5-mile stretch of the highway between Polk Lane in DeSoto County and Mississippi Highway 309 in Marshall County.

Department spokesman Tony Sheffield says work should be completed by April 2015.

Sheffield says motorists should expect lane closures while the work is underway but one lane each way will remain open at all times.
