NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City event will be held in honor of slain journalist James Foley.

The Sept. 6 event will be hosted by the Bronx Documentary Center and a program called RISC, which stands for Reporters Instructed in Saving Colleagues.

Two of Foley’s colleagues from the RISC course, Rachel Beth Anderson and Tim Grucza, will appear at a screening of their film, “First to Fall.”

A discussion will be moderated by New York Times Deputy International Editor Michael Slackman.

Foley was kidnapped on Thanksgiving Day 2012 while covering the Syrian uprising. The Islamic State group posted a Web video last week showing his killing and said it was in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq.
