BARRE, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state and Barre City authorities say a fire that caused about $200,000 in damage to a building that housed a former bed-and-breakfast appears to have been intentionally set.

The fire was the latest in a string of arson fires in Barre this month. Police are still searching for suspects in fires on Aug. 18 and Aug. 7.

The latest fire was reported at about midnight Monday at the in the rear of the building at 102 South Main Street. Six neighboring departments joined Barre’s in battling the blaze, which eventually was brought under control.

State police fire investigators are asking for anyone with information to call the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-32-ARSON, or the Barre city police.
