LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a man has been arrested after he allegedly fired two shots at Los Angeles police officers during a pursuit, prompting an eight-hour search.

Officer Sara Faden tells the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/1vRTwSw ) that officers tried to stop the man Tuesday night in San Pedro after they recognized him from a previous run-in with police.

Faden says the suspect, whose name has not been released, ran away and fired two shots at the officers.

Police immediately set up a perimeter as SWAT officers and police dogs searched from the man.

He was eventually located and arrested early Wednesday.

Details about his arrest and charges he may face were not immediately available.
