LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) - A Lumberton man has died after struggling with two men who broke into his home.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office told local media outlets that deputies were called around 2 a.m. Tuesday to a home where they found 57-year-old Milton Cummings dead.

Sheriff Kenneth Sealey would not say how Cummings died.

the sheriff said another man in the house struggled with the men briefly before they left.

Sealey said the victim’s mother and a 7-year-old child in the house were not hurt.

The sheriff said an autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
