NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - Police in Norton Shores say a Muskegon man was struck and killed by a minivan.

The unnamed 57-year-old victim was hit around 1 a.m. Wednesday while trying to cross an intersection.

WGHN-FM reports the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to The Muskegon Chronicle, the minivan’s 63-year-old driver told police he had a green light. When he saw the pedestrian, he tried to stop, but couldn’t.
