NEW YORK (AP) - An MTA spokesman says a Long Island Railroad train hit a man on the tracks early Sunday. The man’s condition wasn’t immediately known.

Aaron Donovan says the man, in the 30s, was struck at about 12:24 a.m. at the East New York station. The train had left Far Rockaway at 11:44 p.m. and was due at the Atlantic Terminal at 12:35 a.m. The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital.

Passengers on the train were transferred to the subway. Donovan says service remains suspended on the line from Atlantic Terminal to Jamaica in Queens, but should resume at around 5:30 a.m.
