TOPTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania are trying to identify a person found dead in a burning car that was apparently driven into an eastern Pennsylvania creek.

State police in Berks County said fire crews responding to a report of a brush fire in Topton Community Park shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday found a vehicle engulfed in flames in Toad Creek.

After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found a body in the passenger side of the vehicle.

The county coroner’s office said an autopsy was scheduled to try to identify the victim and determine the cause and manner of death.
