BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The University of Vermont says it has reached a two-year contract agreement with the union that represents full- and part-time police officers, service officers, and dispatchers.

Terms of the contract with the Chauffeurs, Teamsters, Warehousemen and Helpers Union No. 597 include across-the-board wage increases of 2 percent for the fiscal year that began on July 1 and 2.5 percent for the fiscal year that begins next July 1.

The new contract includes a 20-percent increase in the employee share of the cost of health insurance premiums, but no additional cost share in the second year of the contract.

The new contract will be retroactive to July 1.

The university did not say how many employees the union represents.
