SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Selma city officials say they’re working to determine the cause of a glitch that blocked city employees’ direct deposit payments from being processed.

City Treasurer Cynthia Mitchell tells the Selma Times-Journal ( ) officials learned of the payroll problem Friday morning and have worked with their banks to process checks for 158 employees who weren’t paid because of the glitch.

Mitchell says the city is working to correct the issue before the next pay period.
