GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Pitkin County searchers have recovered the body of a missing climber from Salt Lake City.

The Aspen Times reports (https://bit.ly/XFR71S) that 53-year-old Jim Nelson went missing on Tuesday. Two people were injured in the recovery effort, which triggered a rockslide.

On Wednesday morning, searchers combed the area surrounding Capitol Peak. They reportedly spotted what they believed to be a body in the Mount Daly Basin above Moon Lake at an elevation of about 11,000 feet. A search helicopter reportedly was able to land nearby and positively identified the body as Nelson’s.

As the body was being moved to the helicopter, a person watching the effort from above the accident scene reportedly caused a rockslide, striking two rescue workers. Their injuries were minor.

Nelson’s death is under investigation.
