LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say an 11-year-old boy who had no pulse when he was pulled from a pool at a Hollywood motel is breathing on his own, but his mother and sister remain on life support.

However, he remains hospitalized Wednesday.

Authorities say the boy and his 12-year-old sister, who couldn’t swim, were playing in the pool Monday when they got into the deep end and began struggling.

Fire officials say their 36-year-old mother, who also didn’t swim, jumped in fully clothed to rescue them and also ran into trouble.

A bystander who’d only recently learned CPR pulled all three from the pool and began revival efforts but they weren’t breathing and had no pulses when paramedics arrived. They were hospitalized in grave condition.
