GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - An 81-year-old Great Falls man died in a rollover crash that happened after his pickup sideswiped a car he was trying to pass on Interstate 15 north of Great Falls.

The Montana Highway Patrol says both vehicles were southbound near Power at about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday when the victim tried to pass a slower car. The patrol says the pickup sideswiped the car, causing both vehicles to veer out of control.

The 33-year-old Louisiana woman driving the car was able to stop in the left-hand lane. She and her 8-year-old passenger were not injured.

The victim’s pickup went off the road, rolled and came to rest on its hood. He died at the scene. His name was being withheld while family members were notified.
