LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a relative at a family birthday party in Lincoln.

Police spokeswoman Katie Flood says officers were dispatched to a southwest Lincoln home a little after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. A wounded man found there was rushed to a local hospital. Flood says the man died at the hospital a little before 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Flood says a suspect was arrested at the scene of the party and jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder. She says officers also found a knife they think was used in the slaying. Online court records don’t yet show that the suspect has been charged.

The slain man was identified as 46-year-old Sujay Nooka.
