NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities are investigating whether the driver of a sightseeing bus had taken illegal or prescription drugs before his bus plowed into a crowded plaza in Times Square.
William Dalambert was to be arraigned on Wednesday on charges of driving while impaired.
Police said there was no evidence that Dalambert had been drinking. But he was arrested after he failed a sobriety test.
The results of urine and blood tests were pending.
Fourteen people were injured on Tuesday when the bus drove into an area near the TKTS discount Broadway ticket booth. The injuries weren’t life-threatening.
