CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police say a family fight led to a stabbing on a golf course.

Police spokesman Joseph Favazzo says authorities received a 911 call Thursday around 4:30 a.m. about several people fighting at the Bear Creek Golf Course.

Favazzo says officers found one person who had been stabbed but the injuries were not life-threatening.

He says a suspect gave chase in a vehicle and officers followed the vehicle onto the Gila River Indian reservation.

Officers say the suspect backed into a police vehicle before crashing into a canal.

Favazzo says three people in the vehicle were detained.

Police believe everyone involved in the incident knows each other and a family argument earlier in the week led to the fight.

Police say the victim works at the golf course.
