PINSON, Ala. (AP) - Jefferson County sheriff’s officials say two people died in a crash on Alabama Highway 79 near Pinson.

Sheriff’s spokesman Randy Christian says two Dodge pickup trucks crashed head on Wednesday night. Christian says a 23-year-old man from Blount County and a 17-year-old boy from Center Point were killed.

Christian says the truck being driven by the 23-year-old man crossed the center line of the highway. Authorities say a passenger in the truck being driven by the teenager was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The drivers’ identities haven’t been released.
