TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A company based in Germany is breaking ground on a plant that will create more than 350 jobs in Tuscaloosa by 2018.

The new Bolta U.S. Inc. factory is going up in an industrial park near the city’s airport.

Gov. Robert Bentley is among the officials planning to attend a ceremony set for Thursday afternoon.

The $50 million facility will make chrome-plated plastic parts for Mercedes-Benz and other automotive manufacturers.

Production is expected to begin next year.
