PHOENIX (AP) - The city of Phoenix is officially counting down the minutes until the 2015 Super Bowl.

Mayor Greg Stanton on Wednesday marked the six months until the Feb. 1 event comes to Phoenix by unveiling a countdown clock at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The digital clock is lit on a 55-inch monitor inside Terminal 4. It is programmed to run up until game kick-off.

It will be the third time metropolitan Phoenix has hosted the Super Bowl.

The city previously got hosting duties in 2008 and 1996.

The Super Bowl will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, a suburb west of Phoenix.
